The town museum will be the first display that visitors encounter as they enter the museum from the promenade. At one end of this gallery, the town’s history as a seaside resort will be displayed, complete with a Victorian bathing hut.
This gallery will also show:

• How geology has played a part in the town’s development (including a display of the famous Weybourne elephant)
• Information on the towns Roman kilns
• The town’s 11th century entry in the Domesday Book
• The war years – Sheringham was the first place in the UK to be bombed from a Zeppelin
• A unique photographic archive of around 2500 images and a genealogical database of over 6000 local names
